Making Money With Maillists

Here is a way to make some money from your maillists and/or website.  You just go to the below affiliate sponsors that you feel your members would be interested in, and sign up with them.

After you sign up they will give you an "affiliate code" and special links to their websites.  When folks from your mailings or website see an ad that you've placed ...and go to their website to do various things, you get paid for it!

Some affiliates pay when your members buy stuff...some just when your members have provided an email address for some information.  Each affiliate is different, and they all will let you know how and what to do.

Here's some good places with interesting products.  If you have an adult content list or site, some of these affiliate sponsors won't allow you to promote with them.  Some of these offer products which you'd ONLY promote to using an adult list or site.  So DO read through the affiliate rules and guidelines when you sign up with each sponsor.

I will try getting this info all tidied up into a nice table soon.  But for now, what you see is what you get.

products, etc.  Definately a winner here for anyone looking to sell a wide
variety of things.  Adult humor OK, but not pure adult lists.

PROMOTIONAL TIPS

If you have a small membership maillist or low traffic website, DON'T expect to get rich from affiliate sales.
 
A 100 member list might pay for your beer each month.  A 500 member list might pay for beer and cigarettes.  A 3000 member list might get you a nice night on the town.  SO, if you're going to be mailing out your list anyway, you might as well let it provide you with some creature comforts!

Of course, the more members you have on your list...the more money you'll make.  We can help with that HERE.

Sometimes a reader has to see the same ad a multiple of times before they will be interested enough to check out the product being offered.  But do also rotate which ads you show to provide a variety of services for them to get interested in.

Also, don't HARASS your members to check out your ads.  It DOESN'T work, and only gets you and them upset.  If your members think they need the products, they will get them.

It's up to you to make the ads INVITING enough for them to be interested.
That does NOT MEAN you need a 20 line ad!!!  You ONLY need to get them to
the sponsor's WEBSITE, where THEY will sell the product to your members.

The "K.I.S.S." (Keep It Simple Stupid) means of promotion is usually best.

EXAMPLE:  If the ad is for software that does 20 things to improve how your computer runs...
DON'T make a long ad listing the 20 things.  A simple "DO you want to make your computer run FASTER?" text link will get them there, and it won't fill your site or e-zine with a huge cumbersome ad.
